FAQs

I’ve never hired a copywriter before. How does it work?

Once you’ve told me the scope of your project, I will provide you with a written quote for the job. At this point, I send you my terms and conditions. I will then devise a list of questions I’ll want to ask you at the briefing meeting and will email these to you a few days before the meeting.

The face-to-face briefing with you then takes place. All decision makers involved in the project need to be present at this meeting.

I usually devise an outline structure to make sure you agree with which subject areas go on which page. I will then send you the first draft and we’ll go through your comments (either face to face or by phone, whichever you prefer).

My quote will include up to two sets of copy edits, so you can make further changes to this second draft. If you want to make further changes over and above this, I will keep timesheets of the additional time spent.

How do I come up with a brief for you?

If you haven’t written a brief for a copywriter before, I will devise a list of relevant questions that we will go through at the briefing meeting.

What are your terms and conditions?

You can find my terms and conditions here.

What do you charge?

Every project is different so I don’t have a rate card. I will provide you with a written quote once I know the scope of your project.

If I write my website or brochure myself first, will you then edit/rewrite it for me?

Sorry, no! I only edit factual documents such as tenders, reports, annual reviews etc.

Do you charge travel expenses?

I am based in south west London and only charge travel expenses if you are located 30+ miles away.

Do you work with agencies?

Most of my work comes from web design, graphic design and marketing agencies, so I am totally used to working with agency teams and going to client meetings with them.

Do you have designers you can recommend?

Yes. Since I work a lot with designers, I have a list of people I can recommend. I also have a wide network of other writers, so if I don’t think I am the right person for your project, I will suggest another writer.
